Collection: Charging Handles

AR charging handles are one of the most used controls on your rifle. If it’s hard to grab or doesn’t run smoothly, you’ll feel it every time you cycle the gun.

Upgrading your charging handle improves grip, control, and reliability, especially if you’re running optics or shooting under pressure. Standard mil-spec handles get the job done, but they’re not built for speed or ease of use.

We carry AR charging handles that are easy to grab, built to last, and run clean every time, so your rifle works the way it should.

Charging Handles
The mil-spec charging handle works, but it was designed before optics were standard on every AR platform. Anything larger than a 1x optic makes the standard handle harder to reach cleanly — especially under pressure. Aftermarket handles offer extended latches, ambidextrous controls, and improved ergonomics that make cycling the action faster and more reliable with a full optic setup. We carry charging handles that run clean, lock back reliably, and hold up under real use.

FAQ

Are aftermarket charging handles compatible with any AR-15?
Most aftermarket charging handles are designed for mil-spec AR-15 upper receivers and will fit any standard AR-15. Some handles are made for AR-10/LR-308 platforms, which are a different size. Always confirm the platform compatibility before ordering.
What is the benefit of an ambidextrous charging handle?
An ambidextrous handle has a latch on both sides, allowing left- or right-handed operation without changing your grip. For left-handed shooters and those running a rifle from barricades or non-standard positions, ambi handles are significantly more practical.
Do I need a specific charging handle if I run a suppressor?
Yes. Suppressed rifles experience higher gas pressure at the receiver — which can blow gas back through the charging handle into the shooter's face. Low-profile or gas-deflecting handles are designed to redirect this gas downward or to the side. If you run a suppressor regularly, a suppressor-rated charging handle is worth the upgrade.
Will an extended latch charging handle affect reliability?
A quality extended latch handle should not affect reliability at all. The latch is a release mechanism — it does not interact with the feeding or cycling of the rifle. Problems can occur with very cheaply made handles that have poor tolerances. Stick to handles from reputable manufacturers and you will not have issues.
